In Balance Yoga with Julie

Classes and Workshops
COVID-19 sure has made yoga classes challenging - especially since I love hands-on adjustments and pampering my students while in savasana. I look forward to seeing you again on your mat.
Sadly, I have made the decision not to run my Yoga Summer Camp for little ones this year. I truly hope to be able to offer it again next summer.

My Yoga Journey
Yoga has been a big part of my life for more than a decade. When I first started practicing yoga, I was a new mom looking to shed some baby weight. I gravitated toward Vinyasa Flow and Power Yoga classes. I would leave my favourite studio with sore muscles and a sense of having checked yet another thing off my never-ending list of to do's.
After a while though, my practice time started to feel sacred. It was "my" time - the only time when I wasn't a wife, mom, daughter, employee or anyone else. During that precious hour, I was simply me, alone with my body and breath.
That's when my yoga became a game-changer. I started exploring slower, more gentle forms of yoga and started to diversify my practice. I began meditating and practicing breathing exercises. I can honestly say that yoga has carried me through the ups and downs of life.
I came to realize that my practice didn't feel like something I should keep to myself. I knew first-hand how a regular practice could assist in combating negative thoughts; how it could intensify happy ones and bring about gratitude. I realized that I wanted to share this.
In the fall of 2017, I started Yoga Teacher Training and threw myself heart and soul into the experience. It was transformative.
Today, I am blessed to teach. I enter each class with an open heart and a desire to share light and resilience with my students. Everyone faces challenges and my deepest wish is to help my fellow yogis breathe and meet their challenges with equanimity.
I leave each class feeling grateful.
If you happen to be in the Ottawa area, come say hello. I would love to see you on your mat. Julie xo
